Influenced by the surrealists and based on the principles of cumulative assembly, EXQUISITE is a visual, performance and sound art exploration into creating a seamless, temporary and immersive work. Groups work to set themes over a 24-hour period, continuing on from narrative threads, not knowing what or how the work before them looks until the day of the big reveal Saturday 5 March 2016.
The third EXQUISITE cumulative assembly is part of the larger Collaborate Asia reciprocal program. Collaborate Asia’s first edition began in June 2014 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia with FCACheartsJogja a contemporary art exchange between people and place. The newly titled EXQUISITE has since gone on to work with over 200 artists and musicians to create two large scale works between Yogyakarta and Footscray Community Arts Centre.
